Celebrating Raleigh

 It was so fun to have a special little birthday celebration for Raleigh while we were in Nashville last weekend! 

 Getting the boys to look at the camera proved to be impossible! 

 Beau loved his cake! 

 Raleigh and I attempted a date night to the movies.  We arrived at the theatre at 8:00pm for an 8:40pm movie and the theatre was almost empty.  We thought, "...great! We will have no problem getting a ticket and seat."  Well, once we got the counter, the movie was sold out! Apparently everyone buys their tickets online these days. Oh well! We headed to Barnes and Noble instead and it was still a fun date night! 

So glad we got to celebrate YOU Raleigh!

Friends are Good for the Soul

Thankful for the W sisters and our friendship with them!  We missed the youngest sister, so we will have to get together again soon! 

Happy Referral Day Beau!

We were officially matched with Beau on February 18, 2011! He was about 5 months old in this photo (we think) but was almost 8 months old by the time we were matched with him. 

It was a Friday and it was winter break for my school.  We knew we would be getting a call that day to let us know if the waiting child committee had chosen us.  

I stayed at the house as long as I could and then I had to get out while I was waiting on the call. 

So I went to the mall and bought Raleigh overpriced designer jeans and myself a beige tunic top and red jewelry. 

As I was at the check-out counter in the Lucky store, my phone rang and it was the director of our agency and our social worker.  

They said that we had a son! 

The rest is a blur as I starting crying.  The manager of the Lucky store brought me tissues and they were all so sweet and congratulatory.  

I immediately called Raleigh.  He was in a meeting, but stepped out to take my call.

We drove to Nashville that night and celebrated with a fun meal at J Alexanders.

 We are parents!

 We celebrated today with a picnic at the playground....Chick-fil-a style! 

 Big smile and such independence! He wants to teach Palmer how to do everything at the playground! 

 Beau loves coming down the slide with Palmer!  Little brothers are tough and brave!
