Pre-k End of the Year Party

I was so happy to attend Beau's end of the year party.  Honestly I was a little bit concerned about how it would go, because I had my whole crew with me, but we only caused one spilled drink so it was a success.  Palmer loved the fact that there was food!

Rhodes loved that he could get in and out of all the tiny chairs without help.

The sweetest part of the party was that each child received a scrapbook with special pictures from the year.  What a gift we will treasure forever!

Last Day of School for Palmer

Palmer's last day of school was the day of Beau's pre-k graduation and I was so sad to miss his party. His teacher made precious little shirts with all of the children's handprints and they all wore them on the last day.  Palmer attended Tuesday and Thursday this year and had an awesome first year of preschool.  He loves his teachers and I think he will be shocked to realize he won't have the same teachers when we return to school in August.

He truly loved all of his sweet friends at school and had a cute little class.  We are so thankful for the way his teachers nurtured and encouraged him and always pointed to Jesus.

Above you can see the difference that a school year makes! The first picture was meet the teacher day in August and the second picture was the last day of school.

Pre-K Graduation

It is hard to adequately put in the words the gratefulness we feel to God for giving Beau such a great year of pre-k.  He started and ended preschool all in one year! Ha! I know it was the right decision to keep him home until pre-k and this year he was ready to soar.

So proud of you buddy! You are going to rock kindergarten!
Come and see what God has done!

Sacred Ground

Every year my emotions get closer and closer to the surface as we approach Palmer's birthday.  The week he was born was and is sacred and holy ground.  The Lord literally carried us through those days and he used friends and family to do so.

When I think back on all the miracles that took place, my heart swells with gratitude that the Lord was so gracious to ordain Palmer's birth 4 weeks early in Nashville so that he and my dad could meet.  It is sometimes the only thing that eases the sting of grief.

Palmer, I never want to forget you just the way you are today!  I cannot believe you are almost three!

You wake up with ideas and plans and smiles everyday!  You are ready the take on any adventure the moment your eyes open!

You are very inquisitive and love to ask why and how.  You love playing pretend and making up stories.

If someone sits in the playroom and interacts with you, you will play endlessly.  You love having a playmate and don't necessarily like to play alone.

You would wear your Paw Patrol t-shirt everyday if I let you.  Luckily you like dressing up too and you love accessories like watches and belts.

You love playing dress up and usually choose your firefighter costume or doctor costume first.

Life with you is fun, and loud and expressive!  Your joie de vie is contagious and people often comment on how much personality you have.  You are full of energy until your head hits the pillow.

For as much confidence as you exude, there are things that still make you quite nervous....such as big animals.  I recently thought it would be fun to visit a petting zoo that a local toy store was hosting.  Beau was at school and I thought it would be a special activity for you.  You sat in the stroller petrified of the animals while Rhodes walked around trying to touch them all.

You call all bugs "ladybugs" which is pretty cute.

You are a great eater but your attention span at the dinner table isn't always all that long.  You love candy and think it is such a treat to eat M&Ms or really any type of chocolate.

Palmer, your life is such a gift! You are a gift and and an expression of God's great love for our family.  Thank you for being YOU!

Let's enjoy one more day of you being 2, because I'm not quite ready for you to be three just yet!

Thank you Brandon and Stacey for these images that capture Palmer's fun personality at 2!
