Thawed Out

We've finally thawed out from last week's snow and the boys were thankful for some time at the playground!

 As I'm looking at this picture, it looks like I may have put Palmer's shoes on the wrong feet. Oops! He kept pulling them off so I kept putting them back on in a hurry. :)

Celebrating

We spent some time celebrating on Friday... with lunch at Cracker Barrel!

Celebrating Palmer's 10 month birthday!

Celebrating Valentine's Day!

Celebrating Beau having a great session at speech that morning!

Celebrating being out of the house after our snowy days!

Beau ended the night by helping his brother with his bottle. Sweet boys! I'm sure they wrestled shortly after this was taken.

Palmer {at 9 months}

Sweet Palmer, my head and heart can't comprehend that you'll be 10 months old tomorrow!  Your baby days are so precious and I'm trying to savor every minute!

Here are a few little bits about you at 9 months so that I can always remember this stage.

This month you started waving and clapping.  You love to clap and tonight you clapped when I asked if you wanted a bottle.

You also started really crawling this month.  You've been scooting/army crawling for a long time, but now you crawl up on your knees with your belly off the ground.  You are so fast!  I turned my back for just a minute today and you were in the bathroom eating toilet paper!

You also started pulling up this month and you try to pull up on all the furniture.  This really frustrated Beau at first, because you often break the tracks on his train table.  But now he doesn't mind, because he knows that Raleigh will help him fix the tracks every night before bed.

We had to put a gate at the bottom of the stairs because it is always the first place you want to crawl.

Palmer also had his first fever this month.  We headed to the doctor for his first sick visit last week, but thankfully he just had a cold.

Palmer's schedule hasn't changed too much this month.  Most mornings he wakes up sometime between 6:30 and 7:30.  After nursing, Beau is usually awake and we all head downstairs.  The boys usually play a bit while I make coffee and get breakfast ready.  Both boys really like scrambled eggs, so we usually have those a few mornings a week.  Palmer also likes cheerios, bananas, applesauce, and Gerber oatmeal.  Palmer still takes 2 naps a day.  His first nap usually begins sometime between 9 and 10 and he sleeps about 2 hours.  His second nap usually starts between 2 and 3.  Some days he needs a short cat nap in the late afternoon, but not always.  We try to start our bedtime routine by 7:00 each night, which means both boys are tucked in by 7:30.

As far as foods are concerned, Palmer now gets a wee bit frustrated to be spoon fed purees.  His preference is to feed himself finger foods.  He still gets a jar or 2 (or squeeze pouch) of baby food a day, but he is transitioning to to mostly finger foods.  Finger foods he enjoys include cheerios, puffs, avocado, bananas, noodles, scrambled eggs, grapes cut into small bites, cheese, lasagna and peas.  Raleigh says I should add to the list magazines, cell phone charger cords, and basically anything he can get into his hand and lift to his mouth. :)

We love you so much Palmer!!! You are your brother are so special to us and we love watching you grow in your relationship with each other.

Snowy Days {Part 2}

Yesterday was spent much like the day before...just playing inside at home.

 It sleeted almost all day, so there was really nothing to play in yesterday.

 Beau spread out all of his markers and stamps across the dining room table and spent a lot of time working there.

While the boys were napping, I went outside to investigate the weather.  Ice just like this was covering our driveway.  I cracked this piece off to bring in and show Raleigh.

A snowy day isn't complete without popcorn and a Thomas the Tain movie!

Brothers are born to wrestle!  Beau loves wrestling Palmer!

When we woke up today, snow had fallen through the night and it was so pretty!

 Palmer explored his first snowball.

We headed to our backyard to check out the snow!

A little bit later, we we went out front in the sunshine and played in the snow.

Our sweet neighbors were really nice to bring Beau over some snow boots that her boys had outgrown.

I told Raleigh that next year we will buy snow boots and gloves for both boys...and probably won't get snow.

Check out our teeny tiny snowman.

We are so thankful that we never lost power.  The temperature is supposed to get up to 50 degrees tomorrow, so I'm sure the snow will melt.  We've enjoyed the snowy days but hope to have some warmer weather soon!
