Easter in Pictures

Yum! Enjoying a clementine with Angie!

Beau is getting a sweet squeeze from Isabella!

Hunting eggs is fun!

Beau was more excited about playing in the rocks!

Hanging out with dad!

The Easter Bunny came and brought Beau a bubble machine! (And don't you like Raleigh's pink Easter socks?!?)

Trying to catch a bubble is hard work!

Beau and Pipi in their nice spring green shirts!

Beau loves his cousin Cayci!

Let's Eat!

Sometimes Raleigh and I laugh about what traits Beau "inherited" from each of us. One way that Beau definitely takes after me is that he LOVES his vegetables!

He ate 5 or 6 stalks of roasted asparagus last night at dinner!

Before and After

Warning: This post is about grass. b.o.r.i.n.g...

Since we moved into our home in 2008, we have longed to have grass in our backyard. We have planted various types of grass seed ourselves and even paid a landscaper to get grass to grow from seed. Each time a few sprouts would pop up and then it would die, even with regular watering.

Now that Beau is home and we know his personality, we realized how much he loves to be outside. Selfishly, I have always wanted grass for aesthetic purposes, but I also think Beau will be able to use our backyard more with grass.

So we bit the bullet and got sod.

Today was the installation day and it is looking great.

Here are a few before shots of our back yard:

Here are some shots of the yard as it was being tilled and prepared for the sod:

And now, drumroll please...

We have grass!

Like most home projects, there was one little problem. They ran out of sod as they were finishing the yard. I think the installers thought I was going to be really mad and were surprised about how laid back I was about it. In the big scheme of things, a little missing sod is definitely a little thing! And they are coming back next week to finish up the project, so it really is not a big deal at all.

I am really happy that we will have grass in our backyard! Crossing my fingers that we can keep it nice and healthy!

Playing in the Mud

Last weekend Brandon and Stacey were in Atlanta shooting a wedding. We had so much fun hanging out with them! Unfortunately we didn't get many pictures.

We did snap of few shots of Beau and Stacey playing in the backyard!

$29 in 29 days from 29 of YOU!

Happy April!! April is my birthday month and I will turn 29 years old young!

In honor of my 29th birthday, I want to do something special for a special boy! Would you consider helping me raise the ransom for Jin-wu?

Here's the deal...I would so honored if 29 people donate $29.00 in the next 29 days to Jin-wu's Reece's Rainbow account! I know we can do it! If we meet this goal, we will add an additional $841 to Jin-wu's adoption fund!

While Jin-wu has not been officially matched with a family, there is a family in the process of going through the waiting child committee process for him. I have no idea who they are, but let's lift them up in prayer and also come along side them and provide some financial support.

If they are anything like most adoptive families I know, every dollar that can be raised to cover adoption expenses is a huge blessing!

So...come on, let's do this!! All we need is 29 people to donate $29 to Jin-wu's Reece's Rainbow account in the next 29 days, in honor of my upcoming 29th birthday.

OK...I will go first! Who's next?

Donate here!

You can read more about Jin-wu here!
