Where a Kid Can Be a Kid

Not too long ago, we had fun celebrating Beau and Isaac's homecoming days at Chuck E Cheese's!  Beau has been home 3 years and Isaac has been home 4 and their homecoming days are just a day (and a year) apart.  

 Palmer was really into it from the beginning! He was happy to get on any ride and enjoyed the "craziness" of Chuck E Cheese's.  

 Sweet Isaac is always a joy to be around!

Isaac's sister was at Six Flags that day, so she wasn't able to be with us. 

 It took Beau a bit to warm up, but once he was comfortable, he really loved the games! 

 I had to keep reminding him to roll the ball.  He kept wanting to throw it overhand.  :) 

 The water gun game was another favorite for both boys!

Special Day

We usually have worship music on during lunch and Beau always tells me to turn it up "loud."  He learned that from me I think because I like my music loud, too. :)  Raleigh always tells me I'm going to blow my speakers. LOL! Today he hopped out of his chair and got his groove on.  At the end of the video you can hear him say, "great song."

Then later in the day, Beau asked for his Bible so he could learn about Jesus! He's never specifically made a point to ask for his Bible before and he even said "learn about Jesus."  It was on a shelf he couldn't reach, which is silly.  I should definitely have it accessible for him.  Even though he can't read, he pulled a little table into the middle of the den and got his yellow plastic chair and sat and "read" his Bible.  Unfortunately Palmer later found the Bible within his reach and somehow found a crayon and made his mark inside.  Oh well! Better to be used rather than up on a shelf!

Praying that the Lord would continue to draw Beau close to Him.  What a special day that will be when Beau (and Palmer, too) asks Jesus into his heart. I still remember the day I asked Jesus into my heart at 6 years old.

As my heart rejoices in seeing Beau's light begin to shine for the Lord, I could not stop praying for the persecuted church today.  What freedom we have here and I was taken aback today thinking about how with that freedom comes responsibility to boldly share the gospel in our realm of influence, which obviously includes our own homes.  I always think about how my parents' were (and are) able to share the gospel, even during my dad's the final days in hospice.  The nurses and doctors and techs knew there was something different about the hope my parents' had, and would often ask how they could be so positive in such tragic of circumstances. Not by their own power, but only by the power of the Lord overflowing into them and out into those around them.

Praying God raises up my sons to be warriors for Christ.  They sure have a generational inheritance of God loving women and men on both sides of the family.

On a lighter note (or messier note I should say), Beau snuck and tried to pee standing up today, which did not work out so well.  Not quite tall enough for that, ha ha ha!

Memories with the W Sisters

Last week we were blessed to be able to spend the day with the W sisters.  Beau and Palmer always have fun with them and they are all such good babysitters in the making!  Thanks for a fun day girls! 

Celebrating Beau

Last Monday we celebrated Beau's third homecoming day and we tried to make it a very special day! 

We started the day by making a Light 'Em Up pack for our mail carrier...basically just a little way to say "thank you" and start instilling a heart of generosity in Beau.  

Beau was so proud to tape his card to the front of the mailbox and we put the gatorade and crackers inside.  We didn't expect anything in return, but our mail carrier wrote the sweetest thank you note in return, which was fun for Beau to receive.  

Next up we headed to TaKorea for lunch!  Because the restaurant is close to downtown, Raleigh worked it out to go with us at lunch because we knew trying to get there during afternoon rush hour would be a disaster.  

We had a wonderful experience there and will definitely go back! The food was delicious! 

Funny note...we realized we've lived in suburbia a long time because we got downtown and had no cash for parking! LOL! We never even thought of it!  My dad was always so good about keeping some cash in his wallet and I am really going to do better about it!  Luckily, there was a Publix a block or two away so we made a purchase and got some cash back. :) 

 We sat inside, but there is a small patio that would be nice in the evenings! 

 Raleigh had sesame fries and tacos...I can't remember exactly what type of tacos he ordered.

Beau had a bulgogi taco.  It looked and tasted even better in real life! 

I had tofu bibimbop which was absolutely yummy! 

There were several little Korean touches throughout the restaurant. 

After lunch we came home and the boys napped.  

Palmer had an early bath and dinner so that we could let Beau stay up late with just us. 

Palmer didn't seem to mind.

One of Beau's favorite activities is loading the Kcups in the drawer under the keurig.   

We accidentally left the stool out, and before we turned around Palmer was copying big brother! This boy loves to climb and explore! And he knows when he has done something sneaky because he will look back at you and smile. 

We ordered a late night pizza and let Beau stay up super late and watch tv. He loved it! 

Like father, like son! 

It was a great day celebrating Beau!
