Last weekend we enjoyed watching the Super Bowl with baby Grey! Here are a few pictures from our weekend in Birmingham!
Beau loves meat! LOL! No really, he does.  Here he is watching Brandon get the steaks ready.

Tasting a vegetable from Mimi!

Helping stir the vegetables!

Beau loves to cook!

Sweet Boy

If you have been reading my blog for a while, you will remember me posting about Jin-wu here and here.  It was my joy to host a very small fundraiser for him last year in honor of his birthday.

This time last year he was matched with a family.  Unfortunately due to personal reasons in the family, they were unable to proceed with the adoption and Jin-wu is now once again available for adoption.

I will turn the big 3-0 in April, and I plan to host another fundraiser on his behalf.  Sweet boy just turned 6 years old this month.  I am hoping to get 30 people (in honor of my 30th) to donate $6 or more (in honor of his 6th birthday) to his Reece's Rainbow account.

Please pray that God would open doors wide open for his forever family so that there is no choice other than to step forward in faith towards their son.  Sweet boy deserves a forever family!

February 4th

February 4th will always be a special day for us!

Two years ago on this day we saw Beau's face for the very first time!

This cute little face popped up in my email in box.  I just knew we had to request his file that day! And of course the rest is history.

A Big Day

Today was a big day in our house! Beau said several two word phrases!

"help please"

"all done"

"Roll Tide"

We have learned that there is no need to rush our little guy, because he ventures through life at a pace that is just right for him!  And we are perfectly content with that.  But it also means that we have extra reason to celebrate when he shows us something new!  When he took his first steps at 19 months, you better believe we were his biggest cheerleaders!  And now at 2 1/2 he is starting to put two words together! We have always understood Beau, whether he could use words or not, but it will be such a treasure to hear him communicate more of what is going on his smart little mind!

Beau, you are fearfully and wonderfully made and we love you!

Here is a recap of her birth day, from Beau's perspective!

Having lunch on the way to Birmingham.

Showing Uncle Brandon the Leap Pad.

Just waiting and playing!

Snack Time!

It is almost time!

Like any good dad, he is getting the camera gear ready!

A quick shot of the doctor and Brandon! It's go time! Yay!

She is almost here!  Beau enjoyed reading a book with dad during the last few minutes of waiting.

She is here!

Raleigh's first time ever holding a newborn.

Beau was checking out the new baby!

A sweet, precious little girl who is already adored and loved my so many! We love you Grey!

Can you see Beau's sleepy eyes?  In his defense, it was almost midnight his time.

Welcome to family Grey! We love you!

Love Hate Relationship

I seemed to have developed a love/hate relationship with the post office.  You see, I love the joy of giving and receiving handwritten cards and packages via the USPS.  I love opening the mailbox to discover special treats.  I love mailing special treats so that others get the joy of receiving them.  I love the thrill of having a roll of stamps so that I know I can mail as many cards as I want.  I love that our postal worker always waves at Beau and gives us a Christmas card every year.

but....

I HATE going to the post office.  Take this week for example.  I had a small package to mail.  Everything fit into a gallon size bag.  I was prepared for a quick trip to the post office.  Upon arriving, I discovered that the flat rate medium box no longer has a self-adhesive strip to close the box.  Well, that is no problem I thought.  I can just buy some packing tape.  (I would have brought my own tape had I known they changed the box.)  Well, the post office didn't even have any tape to purchase.  WHAT?  Well, the flat rate box was $11.95, but I really had not choice other than to leave because I had no tape. And the employees at my local post office will not tape your package at the counter.

So we left and went to Target.  I bought a box and packing tape for under $5.00.  Went back to the post office and mailed my package for under $5.00.  So in the end, it was less expensive for me to do it this way.  I have to say that unless you are shipping something extremely heavy, the flat rate boxes can actually be a rip-off.

So, in the end I am left with the love/hate relationship.
