Sweet Palmer, my head and heart can't comprehend that you'll be 10 months old tomorrow! Your baby days are so precious and I'm trying to savor every minute!
Here are a few little bits about you at 9 months so that I can always remember this stage.
This month you started waving and clapping. You love to clap and tonight you clapped when I asked if you wanted a bottle.
You also started really crawling this month. You've been scooting/army crawling for a long time, but now you crawl up on your knees with your belly off the ground. You are so fast! I turned my back for just a minute today and you were in the bathroom eating toilet paper!
You also started pulling up this month and you try to pull up on all the furniture. This really frustrated Beau at first, because you often break the tracks on his train table. But now he doesn't mind, because he knows that Raleigh will help him fix the tracks every night before bed.
We had to put a gate at the bottom of the stairs because it is always the first place you want to crawl.
Palmer also had his first fever this month. We headed to the doctor for his first sick visit last week, but thankfully he just had a cold.
Palmer's schedule hasn't changed too much this month. Most mornings he wakes up sometime between 6:30 and 7:30. After nursing, Beau is usually awake and we all head downstairs. The boys usually play a bit while I make coffee and get breakfast ready. Both boys really like scrambled eggs, so we usually have those a few mornings a week. Palmer also likes cheerios, bananas, applesauce, and Gerber oatmeal. Palmer still takes 2 naps a day. His first nap usually begins sometime between 9 and 10 and he sleeps about 2 hours. His second nap usually starts between 2 and 3. Some days he needs a short cat nap in the late afternoon, but not always. We try to start our bedtime routine by 7:00 each night, which means both boys are tucked in by 7:30.
As far as foods are concerned, Palmer now gets a wee bit frustrated to be spoon fed purees. His preference is to feed himself finger foods. He still gets a jar or 2 (or squeeze pouch) of baby food a day, but he is transitioning to to mostly finger foods. Finger foods he enjoys include cheerios, puffs, avocado, bananas, noodles, scrambled eggs, grapes cut into small bites, cheese, lasagna and peas. Raleigh says I should add to the list magazines, cell phone charger cords, and basically anything he can get into his hand and lift to his mouth. :)
We love you so much Palmer!!! You are your brother are so special to us and we love watching you grow in your relationship with each other.
