Party Time!

Saturday morning with celebrated pirate style for Beau's 2nd birthday!

Beau started his morning by helping Nana put icing on the cupcakes!

I think I see evidence that Beau had a taste of the icing!

Beau helped put the balloons outside!

This photo from pinterest inspired our balloon walkway!

During the party, the children had several activities to choose from if they wanted to participate.  The dining room table was set up as a create your own treasure map art center.  There were crayons, stickers, and foam stickers.

Another activity was pirate dress up! Arr!

The pictures are a little out of order, but here are the treat bags!

Another activity was pirate tattoos!  It seems that almost all children enjoy a temporary tattoo!

Here is a picture of the dessert table.  We had petit fours, chocolate cake, strawberry cupcakes, and m&ms.

This photo from pinterest inspired the cake.

I found this pirate box in the dollar section of Target.  It worked out great for the silverware.

This pirate bucket is also from Target.  It was actually sold as an Easter basket earlier this year.

Beau had fun playing in the yard with my dad as we waiting on the guests to arrive.

Raleigh was getting into the pirate spirit!

Beau had a little mowing to do before the party!

Beau loves to be tickled by Aunt Angie!

Oliver had lots of fun on the riding toy!

Look at those scary pirates!

Little hands were busy at work creating their treasure maps!

Isaac was taking a little stroll on the bus!

Look at pirate Kate!

Uh oh! Looks like we've got a lady's man on our hands!

The concept of a birthday party is still a bit abstract for Beau, but he definitely knew that it was a special day!

Since this was Beau's first birthday at home, we decided to have a smash cake, even though those are typically for first birthdays.

Searching for treasure!

It was a wonderful birthday party and it was especially fun having Beau home here to celebrate!  Here is a look back at how Raleigh and I celebrated his first birthday.
