Flashback: Palmer's Family Shower

A couple of weeks ago, baby Palmer was given a special shower in Nashville. It was such a wonderful time to celebrate his upcoming arrival.

My cousin Brittany and her daughter Isabella were testing out the delicious food!

My cousin Sarah is showing off the onesies...just waiting to be decorated.

The food table was perfect and everything was so yummy!

Beau enjoyed checking out the new stuff!

My childhood best friend, Jessica, is expecting twins this fall! Yippee!

Isabella was a little artist and made some adorable onesies for Palmer.

Stacey did some awesome work with the stamps.

Aunt Angie was stealing a hug from Beau.

Mmm...fruit kabobs!

My cousin Kaitlin made the precious diaper cake!

Sweet cousins!

Sweet sisters! My cousin Erica (on the right) is expecting a little one in September!

Flashback: Adoptive Moms' Dinner

Ok...so I am way behind on posts.  I usually prefer to blog in "real time" but sometimes that just isn't possible.  So I'm going to do a few flashback posts to get caught up!

A few weeks ago, I had the honor to fellowship with other Korean adoptive moms from all over the country.  Many of these moms I "knew" through blogs, face*ook, adoption forums, etc., but it is always a treat to get to know people in real life.

Motherhood is such a special journey, and adoptive moms seem to have a special connection based on shared experiences.  These adoptive moms were all coming to Atlanta for an adoption retreat, and we met for dinner at a delicious Korean restaurant the night before the conference began.

Baby Palmer Update

Today marks 31 weeks of pregnancy and baby Palmer is just a moving and a shaking.

We had an ultrasound today and found out that he is 4 pounds 3 ounces, which is 63rd percentile.  I was shocked, in a good way of course.  You see, we were not actually supposed to have any more ultrasounds, so this was kind of a bonus one.

Last week at my 30 week appointment, I was measuring between 27 1/2 and 28 weeks... about 2 weeks behind.  So my doctor wanted to do an ultrasound just to double check that Palmer was growing appropriately.  I had prepared myself that he might be a bit on the small side.  I mean sweet Beau hovers around the 3rd percentile for height and weight, so we are no stranger to small.  So when I heard Palmer was in the 63%, I was pleasantly surprised.  Yippee Jesus for a growing, healthy boy!  I will take both of my boys in any size or shape!

Palmer was head down during the appointment.  The nurse practitioner said that he might stay that way for the duration of the pregnancy because it is a comfortable position for him, but with 9 weeks to go there is of course no way to be sure.  He could move positions every day between now and then, so we will just have to wait and see how he ends up.

Thank you Jesus for a growing boy!

Blessings in Disguise

I think that one of the blessings of my dad's recent health concerns is that we have had extra time with family that we would not have otherwise had. We have always been a really close family, but we have been able to spend more time with each other recently as we support my dad's recovery.

Baby Boy Has a Name

Drumroll please......

Baby boy has a name!

Palmer Cannon Gresham

I think Raleigh and I found that it was harder naming this child than it was naming Beau.  With Beau, we had his picture and could stare at it for hours.  We knew he was a Beau! Beau Tanner Si-won Gresham just fit him.

Well, this go around we don't exactly have a picture.  We wonder what he will look like.  Will he have Raleigh's blonde hair or will he inherit my dark hair?  How much will he weigh?  How long will he be?

Well, after lots of contemplation, Raleigh and I finally found the name that was just right for our new little prince.  Palmer is a family name from my side of the family and Cannon is a family name from Raleigh's side of the family.  We are just thrilled with his name and we know it will be positively perfect for our little guy! I am 30 weeks along, so it won't be too much longer now until we get to meet our little one!

We pray that Beau and Palmer will grow up being best buds and brothers!  I'm sure they will get into lots of mischief together!

Happy Birthday to YOU!

Happy Birthday Raleigh!!!! I never dreamed that any man would be able to live up to the example set by my dad...who has loved me so well.  But God created something special when he made you.  I can't imagine journeying through life with anyone other than you.  You are an amazing husband and you treat me like a princess every single day.  Beau absolutely adores you and is already learning from you how to be a warrior for God.  You work so hard to provide for our family and have given me the amazing blessing of staying home with Beau.  I never take for granted the ability to be home with our son (soon to be 2 sons).  Your passion for life, entrepreneurial spirit, and joie de vivre are contagious!

I love you birthday boy! It is already shaping up to be a great year!!!!

Beau loves Pipi

Monday night I went to dinner with some of my cousins to celebrate my cousin Sarah's birthday.  Beau had fun hanging out with Nana and Pipi!

And and I think they taught him a few "naughty" tricks, like sitting on top of the table. LOL! :)

And only 24 hours after major spinal surgery, they were ready to play some more!

We love you Pipi!
